Only You

A Peter Pan and Tinkerbell Fanfiction

It was just another perfect day in Neverland. Peter Pan riled all the Lost Boys, tying them together in a game they were playing. He secured the knot on the rope and flew over them, a cocky smile spreading on his lips.

"Looks like I win again," he boasted proudly, placing his hands behind his head. "I'm always the best!"

The Lost Boys all agreed. "Yeah, Peter, you are the best!" "You're always beating us..." "I wanna be just like you.." "We don't stand a chance..."

Tinkerbell watched the scene from behind a few leaves of a tree. She gazed lovingly at Peter, her heart melting at the sight of his smile, desperately craving his full attention. She didn't want to interrupt him with his game; she had an annoying tendency to do that. Whenever she would, he would always shoo her off and tell her to go away. Her feelings would become hurt and she would shut herself off from anyone, crying and moping in the hidden depths of Pixie Hollow. Peter never apologized; he would always forget that he had upset her. Instead, he would call out her name, and with that alone, Tinkerbell forgot about the fall-out as well. She didn't care if he hadn't apologized to her. He was too prideful to apologize to anyone, not even to the Lost Boys or to that dreadful Wendy Darling that once visited Neverland.

Wendy... that name alone made her blend in with the leaves that covered her. She tried to shake off that feeling, reminding herself that she was with Peter in the end and will ALWAYS be. Even though she wasn't human nor was human-sized, Peter still accepted her as the tiny, glowing fairy she was. But from the way Peter paid attention to Wendy, held her hand, and was almost KISSED by her as well, it just wasn't enough for Tinkerbell anymore. She didn't want to hide her feelings from Peter.

She was way too madly in love with him.

When Peter was alone, playing his flute on his hammock, Tinkerbell flew over and quietly perched her miniature body on his chest. Peter continued playing his flute, knowing that Tinkerbell was sitting on him. For a few minutes, she had Peter all to herself and without any interruption from the Lost Boys. She admired the harmonious melody he created, further deepening the feelings she has for him.

Peter took a second glance at his fairy friend, stopping momentarily. Tinkerbell noticed, and stared deeply into his big, beautiful eyes. "Hey Tink," he said nonchalantly. "Did you like the way I was playing?"

She happily nodded her head. She always liked the way he was playing.

"Yeah, I knew you would." He continued to play his flute without a care in the world. Tinkerbell smiled and chimed wildly at him, her golden glow appearing brighter by the second.

"What was that, Tink?" he asked, not hearing her well the first time. She chimed again with more enthusiasm and energy. "Oh, thanks Tink! You're always so nice to me." He flashed a friendly smile at her.

She had told him he was the greatest flute player in the world and that no one can play the flute as great as he. She knew obviously that was an exaggeration, but she also knew it made Peter feel special deep down inside when he receives such compliments.

By the time Peter was finished playing the flute, he decided to rest for a bit in his hammock. He closed his eyes, but did not fall asleep.

He yawned for a bit. This caused Tink to yawn as well. "Tink, can I ask you a question?" She chimed a yes at him. "I never really got a chance to ask you this, but why were you so mad at Wendy?"

Tinkerbell froze where she sat. Could this be the time to admit to Peter about her true feelings? How would he take it when she told him the truth? Does Peter even know how it feels like to love? To adore someone else? To be attracted towards a person? To sacrifice his own self for someone else?

Was he too immature to understand?

Tinkerbell faced the floor without an answer. Peter opened an eye at her. "You could tell me." He picked up Tinkerbell and placed her on his shoulder as he turned his body on the hammock. He yawned again, causing Tinkerbell to yawn again too. She bit her crimson red lips, trying to find a way to tell Peter at least some sort of implication of her love for him. Suddenly, an idea appeared in her mind.

She flew over to Peter's face, and tried to open his eyes. He opened them on demand, and observed Tinkerbell's actions. She created a heart out of pixie dust for Peter to get the implication. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Tinkerbell waved the pixie dust out of the air and tried thinking of something else to do. Another idea came to her.

She stood still for a moment, leaned her face to Peter's, closed her eyes, and pulled her lips together. Her heart was thumping loudly in her chest while she was attempting this. She felt like at any moment, she could fall to the ground in pure embarrassment from how foolish she looked. Then, she waited for Peter to do the same. Peter faintly remember what that was called.

"You were mad because she was going to give me a kiss?" he asked her to her dismay, returning her face to normal.

Well, that was part of the reason, she thought to herself, and coyly nodded her head.

"But why though? Kisses feel really nice. Tiger Lily gave me one before, and I liked it," Peter told her, crushing Tinkerbell's racing heart unknowingly.

That dumb Tiger Lily gave him a kiss?! When in the world did that happen!? Was it when Peter had banished me that one time? Just the thought of it made Tinkerbell bury her face in her hands in sadness. Of course any girl would take their opportunity to flirt with Peter! He's so vivacious, so full of life, and on top of that, he's gorgeous. His face, so lovely with expression, so animated with adventure. His eyes would sparkle whenever he was having the time of his life. His slightly unkempt auburn hair was playful to touch, perfect for anyone to run their fingers over. His elf-like ears were too cute to pass up. And of course, his lips looked so untouched, that anyone would be tempted to kiss them.

Peter took full notice of her immediate change of emotion. "What's wrong Tink?" He tried moving her hands away from her face with a slender, index finger. She grabbed onto his finger and cried passionately onto it.

"Don't cry, Tink. Whatever it is, it's probably not that important anyways." He patted her blond hair softly, trying to comforting her in any way possible. This made her feel better, knowing he was worried about her feelings. Was it enough to reciprocate her feelings for him? She needed to know, and the burning question was killing her.

Taking one big breath in, she asked Peter if he loved her. Unbeknownst to Tinkerbell, Peter's eyelids were appearing heavier from the need to sleep.

"What is love?" he asked, before he closed his eyes peacefully.

Tinkerbell sighed. Peter was so blissfully unaware, so frustratingly naive. But that's how Tinkerbell loved him most of all.

She thought about the question for a moment. She explained to Peter that love is how someone feels for another person, and would do anything and everything for them. That love is caring for someone, wanting to hold that person, and kiss them because it feels nice to. That love is beautiful and magical in its own way. Love is wanting every moment to be with someone, and wanting to make that person happy. She concluded with finally admitting she held these feelings of love for Peter.

However, Peter became too bored and fell asleep! Tinkerbell couldn't believe what just had happened. She finally found a way to pour her heart out to him, and the immature blockhead decided he would rather fall asleep.

But Tinkerbell didn't want to stay mad with him. She loved him too much, as she fully and thoroughly explained before. She figured that, even though Peter wouldn't know her true feelings and probably wouldn't understand them at all, she was at her happiest when they would always spend their time together.

Sweet dreams, she chimed like sweet, small bells at him as she planted a kiss on the corner of his mouth. When she was gone, Peter had a slight smile hanging on the corner of his lips.
